Stuy S&D Update #7: February 24, 2026 and GRANDS Information

Stuyvesant after the University of Pennsylvania Trip

Hello Stuvyesant Speech and Debate families,

On Saturday March 7th, Stuyvesant will be hosting the annual Grands CFL National Qualifier. This is an all-day event that begins with Breakfast at 8:00am, Lunch at 11:30-1 and snacks throughout the day.

We ask for your help in making that Saturday a successful tournament and warm display of hospitality. Please sign up to volunteer food at this link.

This is a long standing tradition which was only missed once after 9/11. It's a great chance to see our team in full force, with every event represented except Parli (which is not a CFL event yet). We’ve seen our competitive strength over the past few weekends at the University of Pennsylvania Liberty Bell Classic (2/6-8) and Harvard University Invitational (2/13-16). Let’s show our community strength at Grands.

We take great pride in hosting at Stuy, and we want to welcome everyone with an awesome menu.

Breakfast is pretty basic, bagels, donuts, muffins and coffee/tea. Lunch however is an International Feast with homemade dishes prepared by Team Member families. In previous years we've had Lasagna, Biryani, Chicken Broccoli, Perogies, Pergogi,  Sushi, Fried Chicken, Chile, Sandwiches and Dumplings to mention a few.

Please include ingredients for those with food allergies. And we are hosting many vegetarians. When we reach our goal, we will close the category. If cooking is not your thing, we need water, soda, teabags, milk for coffee.

Thank you in advance for your help. If you need to refrigeration, we will have access to the kitchen on Friday afternoon. Once again, here is the link to sign up.
