Welcome Speech & Debate families!

Welcome back to a new year of Stuyvesant Speech and Debate! Stuyvesant had a spectacular time competing at the Yale Invitational (9/19-21). The trip to New Haven was filled with campus sightseeing, vivacious card games, and spirited speeches. Thank you to parents, coaches, and alumni Astrid Harrington (‘25), Helen Mancini (‘25), and Atiya Firooz (‘25) for judging the first tournament of the year! We appreciate the hard work, dedication, and attentiveness of all competitors and spectators who made the trip especially rewarding. See some pictures and highlights down below.
We are excited to welcome all new and returning families to our annual kickoff meeting on Wednesday, October 8 at 5:45 PM in Stuyvesant's Murray Kahn Theater. With presentations in Speech, Congress, Extemp, and all Debate forms, learn about how our nationally-ranked 42-year old team operates from alumni, students, and parents. We request and expect parents and guardians to attend; this event is essential to funding and fueling our team. "It takes a village" to help us train talented speakers and compete across New York and the country. It would be greatly appreciated if each family RSVP at this link.

We couldn’t attend tournaments this year without your help and the support of Dr. Seung Yu and the administration, the Alumni Association, the Parents’ Association, Ms. Dina Ingram and of course, Ms. Sheinman.
We are, as always, incredibly thankful for all of your support. See you Wednesday!
Best,
The S&D Team
