[IMPORTANT] Grands Information

Hey Stuy S&D!

The team had an amazing time at Harvard (...except for the weather), and next up on the agenda is Grands! For the past 38 years (only with a break for Covid), Stuyvesant has hosted  the Grands (or the CFL National Qualifier) on March 15. It’s the only tournament we host and we always do our best to give the best hospitality and experience in the entire league. Our team always has a fun time competing and running the event and, as usual, it really does take a village!

If you have the time, please volunteer!

We also need donations to keep everyone fed and happy. We usually host around 120 people and we always offer breakfast, lunch, snacks and various beverages. As an example, in the past, we’ve provided bagels, donuts, muffins and coffee for breakfast, and things like noodles, salads and sandwiches for lunch! Our lunches are always an international buffet of different cultures, so any type of food is welcome! We do ask that you mark common allergies (things like nuts), just to keep things safe.

We also need things like napkins, plates and one time use cutlery. Things like milk/cream for the coffee, tea bags and lots and lots of water are also greatly appreciated.

If you can donate anything, or have the time to volunteer, please fill out this form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdisfH36vtlrpIKY6xDrLwX5PuDR1Xw7xKtTSeCTfrbij-rmQ/viewform?usp=sharing. Once you fill out the form, we’ll reach out later with more information.

We really do appreciate everyone and we need all of you to make Grands a success. Whether as a judge, ballot runner, or food donator, we’re grateful for any help we can get.

If you have it, Grands is also a great time to show off your Stuyvesant (or Stuy S&D) merch!

We look forward to seeing you all there!

Ms. Julie Sheinman
